Rough Cut Feedback

We thought that the feed back that we received was constructive as it helped us spot the errors in our work. Our class mates commented on the editing, camera work, sound, mise en scene and narrative. So far the only editing that we have completed is cutting, for example making the shots the right length and speed, these clips have then been put in order. Therefor it was hard for the class to leave feedback on editing as there was little evidence of editing techniques. However the class did notice our wide variety of shots and locations added intrigue to the footage.
Within our camera work, the class commented on the point of view shots being effective in showing characters perspective. the class put down shaky shots as being realistic in the part of footage where the character is stumbling down the isle through the point of view shot.
The class commented that the silence in our footage due to the lack of music, created tension. This was an interesting comment because we originally decided to use music in our sequence.

Mise en scene is an important way of explaining the plot and genre of our sequence, we used various strategys to achieve this. Our class commented on these, for example the dark church location and the sinister contrast of a vicar with a bloody knife.

Comments on narrative included "church in dark is spooky, it also builds up suspense as you cannot not focus on characters faces. This also makes the audience intrigued. The class said that it was unclear of the storyline, however after editing it would be more clear.
